O.k. so I figured I'd try the whole blogging thing to have some documentation of my existence just in case this person inside me decides to cause me harm! No, but seriously I wanted to document my pregnancy experience & what better way than blogging?!? So here we go: Friday I went to see my doctor and she decided to do a sonogram to find out how far along I actually am. I was extremely nervous, my heart was racing, & I was hoping she would tell me it was just gas! But of course there's really someone else inside of me. It was really weird when she finally found the baby. I heard the heartbeat & saw the little body for the first time. Of course I started crying because up until this point I was thinking that maybe I'm not really pregnant at all, but here she goes and decides to rain all on my parade. As we watched the baby started bouncing up and down (I swear I'm not making this up & she was astonished herself) & then put up it's little hand as if to say I'm not ready for my close up (& this is at 10 weeks). I just stared at the screen in amazement, silently thinking to myself I really wish I could scream to this kid: DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO DO TO MY BODY, & BY THE WAY CAN YOU PLEASE STOP MAKING ME VOMIT?!? But of course I said nothing, because I take full responsibility for my actions (at least most of the time). So then she gives me the pictures and the whole nine & I couldn't stop staring at them. I couldn't believe this was happening to me. Why me? In between staring at the pictures and maneuvering through traffic I couldn't help but think: this is one cute kid! I know it sounds silly because the sonogram picture probably looks the same for everyone but let me have my fantasy OK? So I'm really pregnant, there's really a baby coming & I'm going to be someones mom (that doesn't even sound right). I'm due on March 18th but of course less than 4% of women actually deliver on their due date so who knows when this kid will want to come out. I suppose everything happens for a reason, and babies are a gift, and God doesn't make mistakes and all that good stuff but I can't help but think: "how in the heck did I get knocked up?"(well we all know how...immaculate conception!) Well this is it for today...until next time when I'm not vomiting, eating, or sleeping...Oh & I've included a picture of the sonogram, so try and tell me that this isn't the cutest little fetus that you ever did see! Exactly!
